Two years ago, Opsiix set out on a mission to bridge the gap between Veterans, and their oftentimes difficult and complex, transitions back to civilian life. We believed that if we created a platform that allowed Veterans to connect with one another, we could build up that sense of camaraderie, forge friendships, and ultimately, reduce veteran suicide rates.
Although our mission hasn’t wavered and will never change, circumstances in our own personal lives over the last six months have. Two of our Opsiix founders graduated college and relocated back to their hometowns to pursue full-time careers and start their foundations in life post college. Furthermore, we would be remiss not to mention that the effects of Covid-19 have caused unprecedented change and disruption to all our lives in several different ways. Therefore, with many obstacles taking place in a short amount of time, we feel that the best course of action to take is to halt any further development of Opsiix at this time.
This journey so far has been such a valuable experience. To be able to collaborate with other Veterans, witness the dedication and creativity among colleagues, and learn that reducing Veteran suicides is a mission that many people hold close to their hearts, has overall been extremely rewarding. We’re proud of the product that we have built, relationships we have made along the way, but even more so, we’re grateful for the community that has rallied around us, helped us to grow and will be here if and when we return.
Thank you for reading and for making Veterans a priority,
The Opsiix Team
